Zomato is offering assistance in finding a match this Valentine’s week, posing a threat to Tinder and Bumble.

Zomato, the food-delivery platform, has introduced a unique way for its users to find the perfect match this Valentine’s Day. The platform now allows users to find a match, but with a twist – they’ll be matched with a foodie who has a similar taste. To find a match on Zomato, users can tap on “Explore now” under “Celebrate Valentine’s Week” and then tap on “Find a match”. They will then be redirected to a page titled “Find a foodie match”, where they can select their gender and preference and tap on “Find a Match”. Once matched, users will find that the names of their matches resemble humans but are actually personifications of food dishes, such as Malai Chaap, Gulaab Jamun, and Raj Kachori, among others.

The new initiative has received mixed reactions from users on social media, with some finding it amusing and innovative, while others expressing their preference for certain food items. This initiative comes at a time when online food delivery and e-commerce platforms have been introducing new offers and incentives in anticipation of Valentine’s Week. Amazon has launched its specially curated Valentine’s Day store, which will be live until February 14, while Flipkart has introduced its special Mobile Bonanza sale, valid until February 15. Additionally, Zomato-owned Blinkit recently unveiled a new feature called “Single Mode” for solo shoppers, allowing users to explore a selection of products catering to individual needs.

The unique approach by Zomato to help users find their foodie match demonstrates the platform’s commitment to making Valentine’s Day special, even for those who prefer food over traditional matchmaking. This innovative idea has sparked conversations on social media and is a fresh take on celebrating love in a unique way this season.
