Yuksom Breweries: How Bollywood Legend Danny Denzongpa Conquered the Brewing Industry and Established a 200 Crore Firm

The renowned Sikkimese actor, Danny Denzongpa, also known as Tsering Phintso, is currently dominating the media headlines.

The impact that Danny Denzongpa has on the Bollywood industry is immeasurable. He has been associated with Bollywood for over 50 years.

Danny Denzongpa’s outstanding career in movies like “Ghatak,” “Indian,” “China Gate,” “Agneepath,” “Bang Bang,” “Hum,” and “Baby” is commendable.

However currently the reason of being him in the limelight is not his acting career, but his success as a businessman.

About Danny Denzongpa’s company “Yuksom Breweries”

In 1987, Danny also entered the brewing industry as an entrepreneur and founded “Yuksom Breweries” in South Sikkim.

Danny Denzongpa expanded his brewing business in 2005 by founding Denzong Breweries in Odisha.

Four years later, in 2009, Danny Denzongpa took over Rhino Agencies to rule over Assam’s brewing market.

The three breweries established (in South Sikkim, Odisha, and Assam) gave the company a “combined annual production capacity of 6.8 lakh hectoliters.”

Thus, Yuksom became one of the country’s top-performing beer firms.

Some of the popular brands from the actor’s breweries include “He-Man 9000” and “Dansberg.”

As per DNA, Yuksom Breweries reportedly has a significant contribution of Rs 100 crore to the economy of the northeastern region, as it employs 250 workers.

According to Danny, the acquisition of Rhino Agencies in Assam was one of his best decisions, which helped him achieve a key milestone.

During the same period, in 2009, Vijay Mallya also attempted to penetrate the northeast market and planned to acquire the newly established Rhino Breweries in Assam.

However, there was a prompt reaction from Yuksom to acquire Rhino to maintain and protect its dominance in the brewery market in the northeastern region.

This action proved to be Danny’s clever move, which not only hindered Vijay Mallya’s business goals but also strengthened Danny’s position in the market.

Currently, Yuksom Breweries is India’s third-largest beer brand, with an annual turnover of Rs 200 crore.
