WATCH VIDEO: Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Mic Off’ Moment Causes Chaos While Raising NEET Issue in Lok Sabha

On Friday, the Congress party said that Rahul Gandhi’s microphone was turned off while he was trying to discuss the NEET paper leak issue in the Lok Sabha.

The party shared a video showing Rahul Gandhi asking the Speaker, Om Birla, for permission to speak.

Rahul Gandhi wanted to debate the NEET controversy and demanded a response from the government.

However, the Speaker said that the discussion should focus on the President’s address.

The Congress party tweeted that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not commenting on the NEET issue, Rahul Gandhi is raising his voice for the youth.

They alleged that someone was trying to suppress the youth’s voice by switching off Rahul Gandhi’s mic.

The NEET-UG 2024 examination has caused controversy due to the scandal of the question paper leaking before the exam, leading to nationwide protests by students.

Moreover, currently, the Congress party is accusing the government of trying to suppress the voice of the youth by not allowing a debate on the issue.

What happened next?

When the session started, a Congress MP named KC Venugopal asked to discuss the NEET paper leak issue in the Lok Sabha.

However, the Speaker said they would only discuss the President’s speech. This led to a commotion in the House, and the Speaker postponed the session until July 1.

According to the Deccan Herald, government officials said it’s not usual to raise separate issues during the discussion of the President’s speech.
