Shadi Anudan Yojana is also known as the Marriage Grant Scheme. It is an initiative by the Government of Uttar Pradesh that offers grants to the daughters of poor families of other backward Classes. 

This scheme aims to enhance the family’s economic condition in which marriage is happening. The Department of Backward Classes Welfare regularly put efforts into improving the economic conditions of poor families. 

Shadi Anudan Yojana is more like a provision that marriage grants for the daughters belonging to BPL, poor and helpless families of Other Backward Classes. 

Eligibility Criteria under Shadi Anudan Yojana

Shadi Anudan Yojana is a scheme specifically designed to offer financial assistance for marriage to the daughters of poor and below-poverty-line individuals from other backward classes. Consider the following terms and conditions regarding the eligibility criteria of the scheme. 

1. If the annual income of the interested individual is below Rs. 46,080/- in rural areas and Rs. 56,460/- in urban areas, then the applicant is eligible for the Shadi Anudan Yojana

2. In the application of marriage, the age of the male is required to be 21 years or more, while the age of the girl is required to be 18 years or more to be eligible for the scheme.

3. In the online application form, the applicants belonging to the other backward classes category are required to enter the serial number of the online Caste Certificate issued by the office of Tehsil. 

4. Destitute women, and widow applicants after the demise of their husbands are given priority under the scheme. These women would not be required to submit any caste certificate to avail the benefits under the scheme. 

5. Grant for marriage will be given to a maximum of 2 daughters from a single family. 

Documents Required To Apply for Shadi Anudan Yojana

To apply for the Shadi Anudan Yojana or Marriage Grant Scheme of Uttar Pradesh, the following documents are required. 

1. Caste Certificate.

2. Income Certificate.

3. Aadhar Card.

4. All documents related to the bank account.

5. In the case of a PwD or widow, documentary proof or a certificate. 

6. Marriage invitation card or any certificate showing the date fixed for marriage.

Important Insights to Apply for Shadi Anudan Yojana

1. The applicant who wishes to apply for the Shadi Anudan Yojana can do so by themselves by visiting https://www.shadianudan.upsdc.gov.in, the official website of the department. Moreover, they can also visit Jan Suvidha Kendras, Cyber Café, and the Office of the District Backward Classes Welfare Officer. 

Note: If the applications are applied via any other person, then such entries will not be entertained. 

2. The applicant is solely responsible for filling out the application form correctly. The applicant is liable for the correctness of the details submitted by him/her in the application form. 

3. The applicant is required to apply for the Marriage Grant Scheme mandatorily between the phase of three months or 90 days prior to the date of marriage. It stands still until 90 days following the conduct of marriage. 

4. Eligible candidates are required to keep a copy of all the self-attested uploaded documents along with the hard copy of the online application form. 

5. Later, applicants from the urban areas are required to provide a hard copy of the enclosures and application form to the employee, like the Lekhpal/ the verifying officer, as nominated by the SDM. 

6. Beneficiaries in rural areas are required to submit the documents to the Assistant Development Officer/Gram Panchayat Officer/Village Development Officer/ any other verifying officer as nominated by the Block Development Officer.   

7. It is the responsibility of the verifying authorities to make sure that within 21 days of the submission of the online application form, the beneficiary gets the benefits.
