Ladli Laxmi Yojana was rolled out by the Madhya Pradesh Government in 2007 by then Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The scheme was launched in the state to bring a positive change towards the birth of girls in society.

Moreover, the primary concern of the Yojana was to enhance the health status along with the sex ratio and educational status of girls.

The scheme was a success. Thanks to its effectiveness, other states also implemented similar schemes for the upliftment and innovation of girls’ welfare.

The Ladli Laxmi scheme is currently operational in various states, including Jharkhand, Goa, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh.

Features of Ladli Laxmi Yojana

The Ladli Laxmi scheme is extended to registered girls. It provides benefits to the family of the girls so that their educational expenses can be incurred.

Notably, girls who dropped out from school are not eligible to receive the financial benefits offered under the Ladli Laxmi scheme.

The family of the girl is entitled to receive Rs 1 lakh for the girl’s marriage. Notably, if the girl gets married before she attains the age of 18, then she will not be considered a beneficiary under the Ladli Laxmi Yojana.

Eligibility for Ladli Laxmi Yojana

The eligibility criteria required under the Ladli Laxmi Yojana are summarized below, according to the official government website:

  1. The girl should be born on or after January 1, 2006.
  2. The girl needs to register herself at the local Anganwadi center.
  3. The parents of the girl must be natives of the state.
  4. A girl’s parents must not pay any taxes to the government.
  5. The Ladli Laxmi Yojana application process must be initiated within a year of the girl’s birth.
  6. If the girl’s parents die, then the Ladli Laxmi Yojana application can be submitted within 5 years of the child’s birth.
  7. If the parents have opted for family planning, then the second girl will also be eligible to register for the scheme.
  8. In the case of twins, both girls will be eligible, along with the third girl, to benefit from the Yojana.
  9. Applies to people who are in the BPL category.

  1. Overall ID and family ID of the girl’s child
  2. Family planning certificate (in case of a second child)

Ladli Laxmi Yojana can be applied in both online and offline modes. However, in both ways, the Ladli Laxmi Yojana form is required to be submitted with all the necessary documents.

Online Application Process: STEP-BY-STEP

  1. Visit the official website, mp.gov.in.
  2. Click on the “Apply” button and then proceed.
  3. Then go to “self-declaration,” and tick mark it. Then click on “Go Ahead.”
  4. Take a look at the entire form, fill it in properly, and then click on the “Save” button to apply.
  5. Upload the scanned copies of the required documents to the portal and then submit them.

Offline Application Process

If a beneficiary wishes to apply for the Ladli Laxmi Yojana in offline mode, then she has to submit the application form physically. The relevant documents are required to be attached to the application form.

The application form of the Ladli Laxmi Yojana can be available from the Municipal Corporations, Gram Panchayat, or Anganwadi centers in the state.

Visit the Lok Seva Kendra and submit the documents to the officer in charge of the registration.

When submitted, the application will be sent for further processing. Once it is approved, the financial benefits will be transferred directly to the bank account of the applicant.
