Jamat Ul-Vida is an Arabic word, which means farewell to Friday. This festival is celebrated with great pomp and enthusiasm by Muslims all over the world. This day is celebrated by the people of the Muslim community on the last Friday of Ramadan. The people of the Muslim community remember Allah on this day and read their holy books throughout the day. The month of Ramadan is considered a noble, month of worship. Hence the (last) last Friday of the month of Ramadan is celebrated as “Jamat Ul-Vida”. This day is very special for Muslims. There is such a belief about this festival that on this day Prophet Mohammad Saheb had offered special worship to Allah. This is the reason why this Friday is said to be more important than the rest of the days of Jumma. The Friday of Jamat-ul-Vida is more important than other Fridays for receiving the blessings of Allah. It is also said that if a person spends the whole day of Jamat Ul-Vida in the mosque with Allah and reads his holy book, the Qur’an, then Allah will protect that person for the whole year. It is also believed that on this day, God sends his messenger (servant) to the earth to listen to the pleas of the people who commit band and to remove all their troubles. That is why Jamat Ul-Vida is a special day for the Muslim community.
Muslim people believe that by praying “Jumma” on the day of Jamat-ul-Vida, by donating, by offering Namaz, Allah is pleased and one gets the special blessings of Allah. It is believed that on Jamat Ul-Vida whatever you ask of Allah with a sincere heart can be fulfilled. On the day of Jamat-ul-Vida, people wear clean clothes and go to the mosques to offer prayers. It is mandatory for men to go to the mosques to offer prayers on this day and women also offer prayers at home.
