Amid the ongoing war against Hamas, various US products have been boycotted for supporting Israel. However, now netizens and social media users have been constantly sharing a picture of the new product design of Pepsi claiming that the company has changed its labeling in support of Palestine.

The photo is widely trending across various social media platforms. The picture showcased a Pepsi can on which ‘Palestine’ was written in Arabic and it is covered with patterns that reflect Palestinian heritage. The photo is currently circulating with the caption, “Pepsi has modified its product’s design to feature Palestinian Culture.” However, Pepsi Co. has not released any official claim on the prevailing rumors yet.

The photo started being shared from a Facebook account called Digital Alfaaz, which created the viral picture as well. The caption was, “Pepsi Gaza introduces new designs to its products, showcasing Palestinian culture and heritage.”

When in-depth research was done, it was revealed that the same picture was shared by a Facebook page Dragon Studios on August 16, 2023, as a part of a campaign called “Pepsi Taste Challenge.” Then, two new launches were witnessed by Pepsi in the form of “Pepsi Max” and “Pepsi Cola.” This was done as a token of appreciation for the Palestinian customers of which 58 percent chose Pepsi taste.

Thus, users urged people by expressing their anger to not fall for deception and the product must be boycotted. One X user wrote, “The Israeli company PEPSI has changed the design to avoid the boycott and wrote Palestine. Do not fall for this deception. Continue the boycott of both PEPSI and COKE brands.”

Currently, the list of products that are facing boycott are Lux, Dove, Lifebuoy, Signal, Sunsilk, Claire, Country Corn Flakes, Pool water, Head & Shoulders, Cerelac, Downey, Tide, Punks and Omo, Nescafe, Loreal, Danone, Knorr, Cappy juice, Prima diapers, Dettol, Kentucky, Johnson, Cheetos, Colgate, Adidas, Vaseline, Lays, Pringles, Fanta, Miranda, Green cola, Sprite, Schweppes, Starbucks, Burger King restaurants, Pizza Hut, Coca-cola, Seven Up, Pepsi, and McDonald’s.
