Anjali Birla UPSC Story: Became IAS Exam In First Attempt

The nation witnessed one of the most fissiparous and divisive elections with political parties across the spectrum resorting to the meanest and the most unthinkable acts.

Post elections, scenes have not changed and every day both the ruling and the opposition parties engage in mudslinging which was never witnessed before.

The latest in this is the accusations against the daughter of present Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla who after clearing the UPSC examinations in 2019 is presently employed as an IAS officer with the Indian Railways.

Did Om Birla’s daughter clear UPSC without appearing for the exam? Truth Unveiled

However, for Anjali Birla, it is not the first time that she has found herself in the middle of a controversy.

In 2019 when she was cleared for her UPSC exam she became a victim of trolls with many even taunting her with memes like it is possible only in India to become an IAS officer without clearing the exams.

However, later investigations proved it to be false and Anjali did clear the UPSC Prelims and Mains exams and her name figured in the Merit list issued by UPSC.

Educational Background

Anjali Birla is the youngest daughter of the third-term elected Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.

She completed her Higher Secondary examinations from Sofia School before enrolling in the Ramjas College New Delhi where she completed a Political Science (Hons) degree.

As per Anjali she started preparing for the UPSC examination during her Graduation and cleared the examination in her first attempt.

Anjali Credits Father For Her Success

Anjali revealed that she always received a lot of support from her family, especially from her father and sister who always encouraged her in her dreams.

She also recalled the COVID-19 epidemic when the whole nation had to go through the agony of lockdown.

Anjali revealed that she had also locked herself up for two years to prepare for the UPSC exam and lockdown was not something new for her.

Anjali cracked the 2019 UPSC examination and her Roll No was 0851876. As per the upsc.gov.in website, she secured 777 marks in the Mains and 176 marks in the personal interview. Thus she scored 953 marks in total in her first attempt at the UPSC examination.

Her name was also featured in the reserve list by the Personal and Training department. The list featured 89 names from the General, SC, ST, OBC, and Anjali’s name featured in the list.

Anjali became a victim of trolling after her name was figured in the Reserve list.

However, Anjali rejected all the charges and shared several posts and videos in which she detailed how she worked hard in preparation for the UPSC examination.
