150 Namo Drone Didis from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar demonstrate their skills to Prime Minister at Empowered Women – Developed India event

New Delhi, March 11 (IANS): A group of 150 rural women from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar showcased their drone piloting skills to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Sashakt Nari – Viksit Bharat programme on Monday. Trained by Marut Drones, these women, known as Namo Drone Didis, operated AG 365 drones at the event held at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa, New Delhi.

Marut Drones provided training to 90 women from Phulpur District in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, and 60 women from Motihari in East Champaran, Bihar. The event, which was virtually attended by the Prime Minister, featured agricultural drone demonstrations conducted by the Namo Drone Didis from 10 different locations.

During the programme, Prime Minister Modi distributed drones to 1,000 Namo Drone Didis and expressed his confidence in the ability of women to lead the technology revolution in the country. He highlighted the potential applications of drone technology in various sectors such as agriculture, healthcare, and transportation.

Prem Kumar Vislawath, CEO and Founder of Marut Drones, emphasized the company’s commitment to empowering women through drone technology. He stated, “Marut Drones has leveraged drone technology to further women’s empowerment and equality. We are proud to have supported female drone pilots in tackling the obstacles within male-dominated sectors such as agriculture and aerospace.”

Vislawath also highlighted Marut’s DGCA-approved training programs designed to break barriers for aspiring women drone pilots. The company aims to promote the economic empowerment of women farmers and enable them to adopt modern agricultural practices through government initiatives and advanced drone technology.
